Nathan's B-day Party~Camping in the Rain style

Picture this...a man leaving his 20s, embarks into the next decade, fear grips him as he realizes he's now what they call an adult, a father, the sole provider for a family.....dum, dum, dummmmm.....What can he do?

Well, by golly, throw an old fashioned 20s style campout party in the rain. Whoo-wee. That's just what we did. When it rains, it pours. No sweat though because the fire was restarted twice, the drinks were cold on ice, and a short bus arrived to carry those home who couldn't drive. Enjoy!

There was a great turn out for the gathering. Nathan's good friend Conor showed up. They've been buds since they were 12. In the middle pic the birthday boy poses with his brother in law, Jason, and cousin in law, Teresa. Jay kept the fire going during breaks from the rain. Teresa rocked out the IPOD to keep us dancing. There's me and Nathan on the right. We were so busy entertaining I don't know if we even said 10 words to each other .

Irish Mafia aka John, Matt, and Nathan
This mafia group was started in the late 90s. The only other picture of this mysterious trio was taken at a Homecoming game in high school. According to legend when the three heads of the Irish Mafia get together there are numerous reports of increased Car Bombs, Black and Tans, and of course Teen Wolf Dancing.

As the rain continued to fall, the clock began to strike midnight. An eerie sound filled the night sky as the thunder paused. Lights lit up the driveway. It could only be the short bus. Most of the party goers jumped on the short bus wagon driven by one of the mom's of the Irish Mafia. Needless to say the ride home must have been a blast. Ben stole my candy bars.

As the night turned into morning, only a few remained. Teresa, Jaclynn, and I danced the time away while the boys finished their drinks.

The real campers of the night were Jason and Jaclynn. They toughed out the cold rain. The rest of us curled up inside and slept off the fun. Even Jester got to stay indoors. He was offically the dirtiest he'd been since he joined our family.

I'll add some great pictures that Teresa took once they arrive. Nathan's come to grips with being thirty. All it took was a good time party. I'm looking forward to mine.
