Mums the Word

Fall is upon us!  Thank goodness because I'm over the summer heat.  We had a relaxing Sunday.  I'm off school for the week and it's our first time in three years to not have a football Sunday family day at my folks' house.  We decided to run a few errands after Sidney got to play in the park.  We ended up at the pumpkin stand in Missouri.  They were just setting up so there wasn't a ton of pumpkins to pick from.  They did have their mums out.  Sidney helped me pick out a small mum bush that had hundreds of unopened buds on it.  She got to get a "teeny, tiny punkin."  She's so in love with it that it hasn't left her hands since Sunday.
After her nap time it was planting time.  Sidney donned Mommy's work gloves and was ready to get dirty!
Daddy got to digging with the shovel while the caterpillar sprinkler supervised.
"Good job, Daddy!"
We're taking the bush out of the plastic dealy.  Jester wants to help so terribly bad.  Can you spot him?  It's like a "Where's Waldo" book.
Sidney helping me plant the mum.
Sidney tickled the mum to make it feel welcome to the Adams' house.  "Teekle, teekle, teekle!"
Time to bring out the hose to water the mum and keep it healthy.
We told Sidney the mum needed water to help it grow. She gave the mum the play by play. "Mum, help you grow.  Time for water!"
Sidney wanted to grow too so she kept jumping into the water.
"Sidney grow too!"
Celebration after the mum was planted.  Glad all the rain has kept it watered this week.  I'll post pictures of it's white blooms when they come out.
